The Worcester Park Residents Association (WPRA), founded in 1996, represents London Borough of Sutton residents living within KT4 extending to neighbouring Royal Borough of Kingston residents. The Sutton Borough Ward include Worcester Park Ward and part of Nonsuch Ward.

WPRA Meetings
In addition to the AGM held annually in May/June, the WPRA Committee meets three or four  times a year (phased as closely as possible to the dates of Sutton Council's Cheam North and Worcester Park Local Committee). Dates of WPRA meetings are published in Noticeboard. All WPRA Meetings are open to Members. Members wishing to propose additional items of business for Agendas are requested to submit these in advance of the meetings by email. Non-Members are welcome to submit comments and suggestions at any time, and also attend the AGM and other Public Meetings arranged by the Association.

Committee roles

Chairman    (a)  To convene and direct committee and general meetings  (b) summarise the discussion, & decide on action points. (c) liaise with MP, councillors  etc   (d) be  the WPRA representative  (e) provide the main contribution to the newsletter.

 

Vice Chairman 
(a)  to deputise in the Chairman's absence. The Vice-Chairman may represent the WPRA. at meetings at council/forum level.

Hon. Secretary  (a) preparation of agenda for the AGM and committee meetings            (b) obtain information.  (c) organize meetings - ie room bookings and refreshments          (d) draft forms for subscriptions, elections and any other as necessary. (e) replenish the KT4 box – sub forms, newsletters.

 

Minutes Secretary.  Maintain records of committee and AGM meetings.

 

Hon. Treasurer   (a) prepare the annual account (b)  maintain accurate financial records (c)  pay invoices as required (d) pay-in monies received. (e) collect subs from KT4 box.

 

Membership Secretary  (a) maintain accurate records of membership.  It would be useful for the roles of Treasurer & Membership Secretary  to continue to be combined.

Newsletter Editor  (a) Edit material for printing  (b) organize the printing and distribution of newsletters.  . 

At present the Newsletter Editor & Membership Secretary liaise over e-mail lists.

 

Publicity  (a) to keep the local newspapers informed of WPRA activities (b) to keep an eye on the local  news & inform the ctte by e-mail when relevant.

 

Council Meetings  ideally two members [not necessarily committee members?] should be available to go to the various meetings, or at least to share this function with the Chairman and/or another officer, and  report back to the committee.
